As part of government projects coordinated by the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, Softec International was selected as the fleet management solution provider for the Egyptian Ground, Sea and Air Ambulance managed by Egypt’s Ministry of Health and Population.
Softec International customized Altair, its Fleet Management Software solution to run the operations of Egypt’s Ambulance Services with a target of over 4000 vehicles and 6000 drivers, medical assistants and paramedics. The solution is running live and makes it easy and quick to allocate resources as well as to monitor and continually optimize fleet operations. Importantly, Altair is fully scalable for the complexities of operations and the volumes involved in daily operations and record keeping enabling operation managers to have continuous real-time overview of availability, utilization, crew control and organizational performance.
The success story was presented to His Excellency, Dr.Tarek Kamel, Minister of Communication and Information Technology, during the opening ceremony of Cairo’s ICT 2010.
“The problem of the Egyptian ambulance one year ago was that the cost and utilization of increasing fleet size and crew team was difficult to control. The Fleet Management solution was designed to empower the Egyptian Ambulance Services with quick fleet overview and control, enhanced utilization of fleet and crew, improved response times, cost reduction, operation optimization and efficient resource scheduling.”
Using Altair, the Ministry of Health is capable of controlling the operations of its fleet including response times to emergency calls, time to arrive to accident locations, time to transfer patient and time to return to service. This enables a detailed control of quality of service and response times of individuals and fleet performance as a whole.
“The solution provides quick fleet overview and control, maintenance management, driver wrongdoing control, shift management, HR, and strategic vehicle allocation and crew allocation through strategic positioning of resources based on service demand. Today this is running live operating over 1000 vehicles members and 4000 crew members”
Softec thanks the Ministry of Communication and IT for making this project a success story and helping us to substantially contribute to Egypt’s Ambulance Emergency Services.
